How a cloud phone works

Opposable Cloud

A private Android phone in our data center

After you pay, the phone starts within a few minutes and we email you its links. You set it up once in your browser, in four steps. Your account page shows the same steps for your phone and ticks each one off as you finish it.

  1. Open your phone

    The phone's screen opens in your browser, and you use it like a normal phone. The first time, open it with the Open the screen link in your setup email, which signs that browser in.

  2. Sign in to a separate Google account

    Google Play needs a Google account. Because the phone is virtual, Google calls it “not Play Protect certified” and won't let you sign in until you register its device ID with Google. We recommend a separate Google account just for this phone rather than your personal one.

    Open google.com/android/uncertified, sign in with that account, paste the device ID and submit. It can take a while before Google accepts it; then sign in to the Play Store on the phone.

    You can skip Google: Aurora Store, F-Droid and uploading an APK on the phone's apps page all work without a Google account.

  3. Install your apps

    In the phone's screen, install the apps you want your agent to use and sign in to each one. The phone stays signed in, and your agent never sees your passwords.

  4. Connect Claude or ChatGPT

    For Claude Code, run this in a terminal (the full command with your token is in your setup email):

    claude mcp add --transport http --scope user phone-<phone id> https://<phone id>.p1.getopposable.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <your token>"

    For Codex:

    export OPPOSABLE_TOKEN=<your token>; codex mcp add phone-<phone id> --url https://<phone id>.p1.getopposable.com/mcp --bearer-token-env-var OPPOSABLE_TOKEN

    For the Claude or ChatGPT app, open Opposable on the cloud phone and tap Pair with computer. Enter the code it shows at getopposable.com/connect, or add the connector https://getopposable.com/mcp in Claude or ChatGPT and enter the code when it asks.

What to expect

  • Some banking and payment apps refuse to run on virtual phones. Your own Android phone with the free app has no such limits.
  • If it doesn't work for what you need in the first 3 days, email us and we'll refund it.
  • You can cancel anytime from your account page.
